Melissa has worked as a teacher, a researcher, a consultant and a project manager in some of the most distinguished research-intensive organisations in Brazil and the UK (since 2011). She has a strong background in social science research with particular interest in the social impact of public policies and inclusive development. Her research interests — by their nature — require interdisciplinary work, which has led her to manage multidisciplinary teams in institutions such as government research centres, universities and charities. Since 2011, she has dedicated her efforts in promoting the effective integration of EdTech into teaching, and, in particular, its application in developing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.
